sustainable movement for whole body healing
1:1 Sessions & Classes Include:
-
Learn movement based on Pilates principles —breath, concentration, centering, control, precision, alignment, and flow. I combine both classical and contemporary Pilates exercises with specific mobility work to help you build a movement practice that sets you up for longevity.
Sessions will provide information on joint mechanics, somatic imagery, brain-based tools, and more to cater to your unique learning style.
-
A rehabilitative and comprehensive training system created by Dr. Andreo Spina with the goal to improve mobility, strength, and longevity of the joints.
-
Fascia Flossing™ is a form of resistance stretching created by Bonnie Crotzer that addresses scar tissue in the body. I’ll take you through eccentric self-stretches that address the different fascial lines of the body to promote healthier and more elastic connective tissue.
In person sessions includes hands-on fascial rebalancing based on request.
-
Learn to build awareness to your nervous system’s subtle signals and stress responses. We work with movement that stays within your window of tolerance in order to build strength while decreasing inflammation.
-
Addressing the lymph system is vital when it comes to improving inflammation and chronic tension as well as boosting the immune system.
Learn movements and flows to stimulate lymph node dense areas. I integrate these into sessions to help promote better drainage and more spaciousness for the body to transport nutrients and oxygen.
About me
I am a movement facilitator and lifelong dancer based in Brooklyn, New York. Through years of trial and error with my own health struggles and injuries, I have learned the ways movement can be used to heal and strengthen the body holistically without leaving it exhausted and in pain. My comprehensive training combined with my own lived experiences allows me to reach people on a wide spectrum.
Whether you’re seeking to increase strength, stamina, and mobility or find relief from physical stress and inflammation, I work to meet people wherever they are. My clients have included professional dancers, actors, and athletes as well as those rehabilitating injuries, experiencing chronic disease/autoimmune issues, and more.

What they say
Sydney is amazing! After my string of unusual medical issues, first a sprained ankle, then a hospitalization for acute colitis, I felt totally disconnected from my body. I couldn’t even rotate my ankle or do a basic ab crunch without pain, but I still wanted to stay active. Working with Sydney consistently made such a difference. She tailored every workout to what my body could handle, and before long, I was feeling stronger than ever. I’m so grateful. Every session with her feels like an act of care. I feel lucky to have found her.
—Christina L.
“A dancer, Pilates “genius” and intuitive body worker is all I can say about Sydney Hale. Because of experiencing some medical issues in her past, she is more sensitive to her clients and seems to know exactly what to do. I’ve been dancing all my life and of course have experienced injuries but as you get older and have day to day work and stress on your system, you need someone to be curious enough to look for alternate modalities and be decisive and practical at the same time. Sydney is detail-oriented which I admire. I teach at The Juilliard School and the difference between good and great are in the details. Sydney knows that adjusting one’s stance or walk ever so slightly can create ease and confidence in her clients. I recommend her at the highest level.”

“Both as a client and especially as a fellow Pilates instructor and movement researcher, I’ve found my sessions with Sydney to be unparalleled in her attention to detail, creative solutions, and encyclopedic, ever-growing knowledge of the body. I have learned so many invaluable techniques and concepts that have not only helped make long-lasting improvements in my own practice (that I never learned in any other class or treatment setting), but it’s made a difference for how I teach and treat clients as well. Sydney is a clear, articulate instructor with the ability to teach about complicated inner workings of the body in fun, simple ways and I truly trust no one more to help me with my own imbalances, injuries, and questions.”
